Privacy Policy

D8 Ventures, LLC (“D8 Ventures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a California limited liability company. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit d8ventures.com (the “Site”) or communicate with us by email. Use of the Site is also subject to our Terms of Use.

This Policy does not apply to our separate products or services, which are governed by their own policies, or to information processed in the course of a client engagement, which is governed by the agreement for that engagement.

Information you provide. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, company, and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically. We use a privacy-focused analytics service to measure aggregate use of the Site. It does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not create persistent identifiers. It reports the pages viewed, the referring site, browser and operating system, device type, and country. Our hosting provider maintains standard server access logs, which include IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp, retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes.

Cookies and local storage. The Site does not set cookies and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies. If you choose a light or dark display theme, that preference is stored in your browser’s local storage and is not transmitted to us.

We use information to operate, secure, and improve the Site; to understand how it is used in aggregate; to respond to inquiries and evaluate potential engagements; to maintain business records; and to comply with legal obligations.

Where the General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating the Site and responding to correspondence; steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract; compliance with legal obligations; and, where required, your consent.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising purposes. We disclose information only to service providers acting on our behalf, such as analytics, hosting, infrastructure, and email providers; where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of D8 Ventures or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We retain correspondence for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was received and to meet our business record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is held in aggregate form. Server logs are retained for a limited period.

We maintain administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from another jurisdiction, information you send us will be processed in the United States and may be processed by our service providers in other countries, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Depending on where you reside, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom may also lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.

Because the Site does not track visitors across sites, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are honored by default. To exercise any right, email hello@d8ventures.com. We will verify and respond to requests as required by applicable law.

This section supplements the Policy for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. In the preceding twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information. We have not sold or shared any of them, and we do not collect sensitive personal information.

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and disclosed, to request deletion or correction, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

The Site may link to websites we do not operate. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page.
